Trailers
Backwoods
Enterprises builds trailers under the
'Scott
Equipment Company' brand name.
'Scott
Equipment Company' is the Massachusetts branch of my business that I founded
almost 20 years ago, and is the name my trailers are registered under with
the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
This page highlights some of the trailers I have designed and built. I have no 'standard' trailer product line, as all my trailers are custom built to customer specifications. I take particular pride in the fact that my trailers are no more costly than what is offered by any other trailer manufacturer, but are built so that the customer gets the trailer they need without having to modify it in any way, right from the start. This was the reason I started building trailers in the first place; I had people bringing me trailers they had just purchased so I could modify them into what they really wanted.
Unless
specified otherwise by the customer, I use TorFlex axles to eliminate springs,
shackles, hangers and other 'high wear' suspension items. These axles also
offer better ride quality and longer service life than a conventional
leaf
spring axle suspension.
Additionally, all trailers are constructed utilizing structural steel frames and crossmember components; there are NO formed or bent sheet metal structural members on any trailer I build... If you want mechanically formed, light-weight steel in your trailer, go somewhere else! I will offer a customer just about anything imaginable, but low quality, UNSAFE construction is not one of them.
Standard Features of All My Trailers:

achieve tilt function. 9 degree loading angle!

front and side rails, and long tongue.
5 Ton

Detail
of the 'Trailer-Tamer' Suspension as viewed from under the trailer. Shown
in tilted position. This suspension allows an equal amount of pressure
to be exerted on both axles at all times, no matter what position the trailer
is in. The result is superior ride quality and extended tire and axle life.
A slightly
more detailed view of the suspension during assembly of the trailer.
